Ana Bertha Canales, was a diabetic at birth. The family didn't have the financial resources available to get the medication she needed. Ana never forgot her families anguish and struggle to provide for her medical needs. She always wanted to give back to the community. And doing so by helping children that were in the same predicament and more. She wanted to bring hope where there was no hope.
Ana came to the U.S. and became a citizen. She devoted most of her life to God and to helping those that are less fortunate. Her love and passion was to help improve the lives of children as much as she could. Together with the hard work and diligence of her eldest daughter, Miriam, they've helped by taking in families who were less fortunate and had no place to turn. They worked closely over the years with many Non-profit charities and organizations. One of the largest, The Salvation Army, was very dear to Ana's heart. Over the years, donating most of their time to many charity organizations, Ana and her daughter felt there was more that needed to be done. They had seen so many children sick with ailments such as cancers, auto-immune, physical disabilities, etc. They put together an organization so that Doctors would come together, donate their services, to help children that could not afford medical treatment and would otherwise suffer immensely without it. Ana herself knew what the struggles were of not having adequate medical attention. Ana always believed that children are the future of tomorrow and therefore our mission is to save the lives of those children, as many as we can. So in her memory, we continue on with the same passion and love for God's children the same way she would've wanted.
